Not getting our emails?
Changing your email address
You can change your email address on the web from the settings page, by typing your new email address in the same text field as your current email address, and clicking save.
On the app, tap the gear icon at the top of your profile page, and then on email address.
If you're not receiving notification emails, this is the best thing to try! It may be that your current email address has bounced notification emails back to us, so we're unable to continue sending them. If you change the email address connected to your OkCupid account, you may begin to receive notification emails again.
Our Email address
The email address that our mail comes from is email@example.com. Support emails come from firstname.lastname@example.org. If you got an email from another email address, it’s probably not us.
Making sure you get our emails
Sometimes our emails can get bounced back from your email provider. Here are some things to try:
- Add email@example.com to your email contacts list/ white list to be sure our emails aren’t going to your spam folder
- Try using a different email address
- Double-check your email settings to be sure you’ve selected the emails you want to get
If you're still having trouble, it could be that you blocked emails from us in the past or reported them as spam. If this is the case, you should try changing the email address on your account to a new one and then see if emails show up for you. Unfortunately if you have marked us as spam, there isn't anything we can do to remove that on our end (after all, your email provider doesn't want real spammers to override your blocks, do they?).

The auto-login links in emails are designed to take you to the part of OkCupid that the email was about, so you don't have to log in, dig around, and try to find the area we were telling you about. Instead, you just click the link and there you are! We do work on the assumption that emails for users are for them only. Changing your password will make any past links disabled. You can also turn off auto-login links from your Settings Privacy page on the web, or on the app by tapping on the gear icon at the top of your profile page and then on Privacy. From there, you can change the setting.
Subscribing To / Unsubscribing From Our Emails
To change your email settings on the web, go to the Notifications/Apps portion of the Settings page. From this page you can set when you want to receive emails from us.
On the app, tap the gear icon at the top of your profile page, then on notifications. Please note, deleting the app from your phone doesn't delete your profile, or disable email notifications.
On the settings page, you will find multiple options for turning notifications on, or off. If you turn off a notification, most emails will stop at once, but you might get one or two stray emails this week.
